The Perfect Fall Dress: Golden Yellow, Burgundy and Floral
It’s that time of year again…cooler temperatures, pumpkin everything and boots…it must be FALL! When planning for our family pictures this year, I knew I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous fall colors this area is known for. I was leaning towards burgundy and golden yellow as our color palette and since I love the look of a long sleeve maxi, as soon as I saw this dress I knew I was going to style the rest of the outfits around it.
I just love this dress! The colors are beautiful and the cut is super flattering. The sheer sleeves are so pretty, with three button closures on each cuff and it comes with a matching belt. I found it at on-line store called Red Dress Boutique and the link to the dress is here. Unfortunately, while it’s currently out of stock (you can be put on a wait list to be notified when it’s back in stock ), they have a very similar dress (without the burgundy) here.
A few things to know about this dress before you purchase it. First, the dress is pretty long, which I personally prefer. I’m wearing almost 4 inch heels in this picture, and it still hits the ground (I’m 5ft 4 1/2 in btw). The biggest thing I feel you should know, is that while the website says it’s “partially lined”, it’s not clear what that really means. In this case, everything from the waist and below is lined, but the top and sleeves are completely sheer.
It took me by surprise, but luckily I purchased it with enough time to find a nude tank to wear underneath. The tank top I purchased is from Target and can be found here. I bought it in the “Honey Beige” and the color is between the splashes of tan found on the dress and my skin tone. You can see the tank top peeking out in the picture below.
Since I wore the tank top for coverage, rather than for it to be seen, I opted to safety pin the top of the dress (it tends to open and go pretty low) and keep the tank out of sight.
For those that are interested, my lip color is from Lipsense in “Mulled Wine” and my nail polish is from Essie, in “Topless & Barefoot”.
I hope you like this dress as much as I do, and as always, thank you for reading! ? ~Lyssa
