Disney Style: My Introduction to “DisneyBounding”
In honor of our upcoming visit to the “Happiest Place on Earth” (Disney World!) I thought it would be fun to ignore my packing, raid my closet and put together some Disney inspired outfits! Apparently this is a THING and it’s called “DisneyBounding”. Basically it’s less about copying a character’s outfit and more about putting an outfit together influenced by a particular Disney character. In theory, it’s less of a costume and more of a normal outfit.
I didn’t buy anything specifically for these outfits. I only used items I had in my closet, although two of the accessories happen to be Disney branded items. Before I have you guess what character influenced each outfit, I should probably mention that the shorts I’m wearing in two of the outfits are navy blue, not black. It’s hard to tell in the pictures. Without further ado, let the guessing begin!
Typically when I do a style post I try to not only share outfit ideas, but also where you can find the items. Since I put these outfits together using things I already own, in many cases for several years, I won’t have links for everything. Having said that, let’s get started! I’ll be discussing these starting clockwise from the top left.
Have you guessed which character influenced this outfit?! I’ll give you a clue. The character is not female, but a male. Think you know? It’s Prince Eric, from The Little Mermaid! Did you guess correctly? This beautiful tunic is from Target. I just LOVE the volumous sleeves. Makes me feel like a sassy & stylish, pirate. The navy blue shorts are from J.Crew and can be found here. My black flats are from Coach.
This next one should be pretty easy. It’s my homage to the iconic Minnie Mouse of course! I purchased this sweet little dress several years ago, from Express. The sequined Minnie ears I purchased at Disney World the last time we went, in 2015. My Converse “All Stars” are from Nordstrom and can be found here. I just love these shoes! I tend to be a Converse girl when it comes to pairing casual shoes with outfits (as opposed to wearing my gym shoes) and these go with just about anything!
I was a little nervous about the elastic on the heel (nothing worse than blisters!), but that has been a non-issue. Converse sizing can be tricky, but these are true to my normal, non-Converse, size. They are easy to slip on and off, plus not having the tie laces is a bonus. Now on to the next outfit!
The bow should be the biggest clue….the inspiration for this outfit is Snow White, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! This top is from Target and can be found here. The navy blue J.Crew shorts are the same ones from my Prince Eric outfit and the link can be found in the description of the outfit, earlier in this post. My shoes are Adidas “Stan Smiths”. I purchased them at Nordstrom and they can be found here. The red bow is from a box of chocolates my handsome Hubby brought me from Belgium. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Friends! 🙂
Last but not least:
Have you guessed the inspiration for this outfit?!?! The rose should give it away. It’s my favorite Disney character, Belle, from Beauty and the Beast! My dress is from Target (is anyone really surprised?!?! Lol). These lace-up sandals are from Nordstrom and can be found here. My adorable rose purse was a birthday gift to myself. It’s from the Disney store and can be found here.
On a side note, in case anyone is interested, the lip color I’m wearing in all of the pictures is Stila “Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick” in “Beso”. There is something so glamorous about a matte red lip!
